November 3

Toyama, Japan: Super Bantam: William Gonzalez (23-3) W KO 6 Nestor Paniagua (18-7-1). Nicaraguan southpaw, who lost a majority verdict to Joseph Agbeko for the IBF bantam title in December, kayos Argentinian trial horse.

November 4

Camp Lejuene, USA: Super Feather: Jason Litzau (26-2) W PTS 10 Johnny Edwards (15-5-1). Welter: Rashad Holloway (11-1-2) DREW 6 Francisco Figueroa (20-3-1). “The American Boy” wins wide unanimous decision over former US and US Inter Services champion Edwards at Marine Base. Litzau, who was kayoed by Robert Guerrero in IBF feather title challenge in February 2008, wanted to fight, but had trouble with the awkward style of former Marine Edwards. Scores 99-91, 98-91 and 97-93 for Litzau. Big result for Holloway as the more experienced Figueroa had lost to Randall Bailey in IBF title eliminator in April.

November 5

Cockeysville, USA: Super Middle: Pete Manfredo Jr (33-6) W TKO 1 Ron Warrior (29-19-2. Heavy: Lenroy Thomas (14-1) W PTS 6 Andy Greeley (14-30-2, 2 ND). Rubbish matches as Manfredo, floors 35-year-old Warrior at the end of the first and veteran fails to come out for second. Warrior is 0-10 in last ten. Jamaican southpaw Thomas repeats November win over Greeley who has now lost 17 of his last 18.

Washington, USA: Light: Verquan Kimbrough (21-2-3) DREW 8 Dean White (15-10-2). Former amateur stand-out Kimbrough fails again as he has to settle for a draw against former victim, 38-year-old trial horse White, who had lost 5 of his last 6 going in. A cut hampered Kimbrough as did White’s counter-punching style. Scores 77-75, 75-77 and 76-76. White, who has been matched tough, looked unlucky not to get the decision.

Dallas, USA: Light Middle: Austin Trout (21-0) W PTS 12 Tarzone Williams (13-11, 2 ND). Lanky southpaw Trout, a former US amateur champion, retains WBA Con Am title and registers shut-out over mediocre local on score of 120-108 from all three officials.

Bangkok, Thailand: Bantam: Bandung (18-1) W KO 9 Panca Silaban (24-13-3). Bantam: Veeraphol (66-4-2) W PTS 6 Alex BS (10-19-5). Bandung makes third defence of his WBA Asian Boxing Council title with kayo of Indonesian who has now won only three of his last ten. Former WBA and WBC bantamweight champion Veeraphol, now 40, beats another Indonesian easily in six.

November 6

Las Vegas, USA: Welter: Zab Judah (38-6, 2 ND) W TKO 2 Ubaldo Hernandez. Welter: Joel Casamayor (37-4-1) W PTS 8 Jason Davis (11-5-1). Feather: Salvador Sanchez (17-3-2) W PTS 6 Jose Pacheco (2-9-6). Judah, out for exactly one year, has no problem with “opponent standard” Mexican as he floors him with body shot in first and stops him in second. Casamayor, out since September 2008, and now 38, looks very rusty as he outboxes novice Davis on scores of 79-73 on all cards. Sanchez, nephew of the Mexican great, wins wide decision and continues to be kept away from any real threats.

Garden City, USA: Light: Brandon Rios (23-0-1) W TKO 1 Lorenzo Estrada (3-16-1). Welter: Joe Gomez (17-2-1) W PTS 8 Bernardo Guereca (15-19-1). Rios overwhelms poor Estrada in total mis-match. Gomez struggles in winning a split verdict with a points deduction for holding against Guereca making the difference.

Ontario, USA: Light Welter: Patrick Lopez (17-2) W PTS 8 Sergio Rivera (23-4-2). Venezuelan double Olympian Lopez outpunches, cuts and outboxes Mexican Rivera and takes decision on scores of 80-72 on all cards.

Magherafelt, Northern Ireland: Light Welter: Paul McCloskey (20-0) W TKO 9 Daniel Rasilla (15-3). Feather: Martin Lindsay (15-0) W PTS Alfred Tetteh (10-4-2). Middle: Greg Proksa (19-0) W TKO 6 Paul Buchanan (8-3-1). Southpaw switch-hitter McCloskey baffles, befuddles and then floors Spanish late substitute Rasilla twice in ninth to win vacant European title. British champ Lindsay outpoints tough Ghanaian, and Pole southpaw Proksa halts Brit.

Belfast, Northern Ireland: Heavy; Sam Sexton (13-1) W TKO 6 Martin Rogan (12-2). Light Middle: Neil Sinclair (33-7) W TKO 4 Janos Petrovics (18-29). Boxer Sexton retains Commonwealth title as he deals with Rogan’s aggressive body attack and then batters tiring former champ who does not come out for round seven. Sinclair floors Petrovics in fourth for easy win.

Buffalo, USA: Light: Dorin Spivey (36-6, 1 ND) W TKO 4 Meacher Major (16-4-1, 1 ND). Light Welter: Nick Casal (20-4-1, 1 ND) W PTS 8 Chris Fernandez (18-8-1). In wild scrap veteran Spivey floors Major twice in second and stops him in fourth for NABA title. Casal, once considered a hot prospect until “Hands of Gold” showed “Feet of Clay, cuts and floors experienced Fernandez with borderline punch and takes unanimous decision.

Chicago, USA: Super Middle: Don George (18-0-1) W TKO 4 Jason Naugler (18-11-1). After scoring knockdown in first George, recently released from jail, hurts former Canadian light heavy champion and forces stoppage. Impressive figures but George carefully protected.

Salta, Argentina: Super Fly: Roberto Sosa (17-0) W PTS 12 Santiago Acosta (16-4-2). Sosa collects Argentinian and South American titles with split points win over world rated Acosta.

Parramatta, Australia: Feather: Jackson Asiku (26-3) W TKO 8 Heriberto Ruiz (42-9-2). Former undefeated Commonwealth champion Asiku hurts Ruiz in seventh and floors him three times in eighth for stoppage. Fifteen wins in a row for Ugandan Asiku who wins vacant IBO title. Mexican Veteran Ruiz, a former IBF bantamweight title challenger, lost a split decision to Steve Molitor in an IBF super bantam eliminator in June.

Toulon, France: Super Bantam: Jeremy Parodi (27-0-1) W PTS 10 Alex Monterrosa (13-6-3). Super Middle: Jean Paul Mendy (27-0-1) W TKO 4 Matt Barr (14-5). Light Heavy: Nadjib Mohammedi (20-1) W TKO 2 Elvecio Sobral (7-3). Parodi retains IBF Youth title but does not impress despite rocking Colombian twice. Southpaw Mendy too good for Barr. Mohammedi, bouncing back from first loss, outclasses poor Brazilian.

Clermont-Ferrand, France : Karim Chakim (18-7) W KO 5 Younes Bouiksain (18-3-1).Thirty-three-year-old Chakim retains French title with kayo of former victim Bouiksain.

Lenasia, South Africa: Sipho Taliwe (10-2) W PTS 12 Jasper Seroka (18-3). In upset aggressive Taliwe gains revenge for 2006 loss and lifts South African title on scores of  116-112, twice and 116-113, but it could have gone either way.

Sydney, Australia: Light Middle: Ryan Waters (18-2-1) W TKO 4 Opeti Tagi (13-5). Careless Waters takes too many punches but floors poor Tagi three times and halts him in fourth.

November 7

Nuremburg, Germany: Heavy: David Haye ( 23-1) W PTS 12 Nikolay Valuev 50-2, 1ND). Heavy: John Ruiz (44-8-1,1ND) W TKO 7 Adnan Serin (19-11-1). Heavy: Sergey Lyakhovich (24-3) W TKO 1 Jerry Bates ( 22-17-1). Cruiser: Alex Frenkel W TKO 1 Kelvin Davis (24-11-3). Cruiser: Francisco Palacios (19-0) W TKO Deleon Tinsley (9-5-1). Heavy: Robert Helenius (10-0) W TKO 3 Taras Bidenko( 26-4). Heavy: Kubrat Pulev (3-0) W PTS 6 Gbenga Oloukun (17-3). Haye wins WBA title on majority decision as he starts fast, but breaks right hand in second.Valuev finds his rhythm and comes into the fight in middle stages, but Haye’s speed gives him the edge. Win cemented by an attack that has Russian giant wobbling in last round. Scores 116-112 (twice) and 114-114. Ruiz, Haye’s mandatory challenger, out for almost 15 months, overcomes facial cut in fourth to  force a standing count in seventh which sees Turks corner throw in the towel. Former WBO champion Lyakhovich, in abysmal match, hurts and halts poor Bates early. Eighth loss in last nine fights for Bates. Frenkel does same to former IBF champion Davis. Seven losses and a draw in last eight for “Concrete” who needs another nickname. Puerto Rican Palacios makes it three first round wins in a row as left hook finishes poor Tinsley. Swedish-born Finn Helenius on top as Ukrainian Bidenko pulled out with a cut. Bulgarian former top amateur Pulev upsets Nigerian who two fights ago beat Lamon Brewster.

Hartford, USA: Light Heavy: Chad Dawson (29-0, 1ND) W PTS 12 Glen Johnson (49-13-2). Light Middle: Alfredo Angulo (17-1) W KO 3 Harry Joe Yorgey (22-1-1). Light Middle Orland Lara (26-0-1) W PTS 8 Octavio Narvaez (7-8-1). Middle: Ty Brunson (21-0-1) W KO 3 Jose Medina (15-16). Dawson boxes his way to victory over former IBF champion Johnson. Southpaw Dawson takes the safety route refusing to get into a brawl and is too fast and clever for 40-year-old “Road Warrior”. Dawson, who relinquished IBF title, wins WBC interim title and retains IBO title. Angulo floors Yorgey in second and twice in third for kayo to win WBC interim title. Abysmal refereeing as Yorgey allowed to take too much punishment and Yorgey’s people complain of punches landed whilst Yorgey was down and also hits behind head doing the damage. Lara stages late rally to win close but unpopular verdict over Nicaraguan. Set up for Brunson as Puerto Rica has now lost eight of last nine.

Atlantic City, USA: Welter : Mike Jones (19-0) W KO 5 Raul Pinzon (16-4, 1ND). Welter Mike Stewart (44-7-2, 1ND) W PTS 6 Louie Leija (21-13-1). Jones makes it 16 by KO/TKO as he puts Colombian down for count with body punch. Stewart is on floor in third and cut, but wins decision over 36-year-old Texan.

Montreal, Canada: Super Middle: Sebastien Demers (30-2) W PTS 12 Nick Poulard (13-3). Middle: David Lemieux (19-0) W KO 2 Alfredo Contreras (10-7-1). Light Welter: Dierry Jean (16-0) W TKO 5 Hugo Armenta (10-4). Demers down in first and losing at half way point floors game Poulard in seventh and stages big finish to win on scores of 116-110 twice and 115-112. Lemieux makes it 19 by KO/TKO as he finishes Mexican with body shot. Prospect Jean forces Mexican to retire.

Vargas, Venezuela: Bantam: Alex Munoz (34-3) W PTS 10 Felix Machado (25-11-1).  Munoz wins battle of former super fly champions as he outboxes Machado. Munoz wins on scores of 97-93 twice and 96-94. Former champion not in best condition as training broken by illness. Sixth loss in a row for 37-year-old southpaw Machado, but says he will fight on.

Tacoma, USA: Feather: Andrey Isaev (22-1) W PTS 10 Derrick Campos (20-7). Light: Alisher Rahimov (20-0) W PTS 6 Aaron Dominguez (10-4). Andre, from Belarus, and Uzbek Rahimov win decisions. Isaev has to settle for majority verdict over aggressor Campos.

Sedan, France: Cruiser: Jackson Chanet (29-2) W PTS 8 Andrey Zaitsev (5-14) . In first fight since December 2006 former European super middle champ Chanet fights with injured right hand but easily outpoints poor Russian.

Tokyo, Japan: Feather: Naoki Matsuda (31-8-4, 1ND) W PTS 10 Koji Umetsu (15-9-3). Matsuda retains national title for third time with win over former champion Umetsu.

Auckland, New Zealand: Heavy: Chauncy Welliver (40-5-5) W PTS 12 Seiaute Mailata (12-11-1). Light Heavy: Soulan Pownceby (13-0-1) W RTD 4 Faimasasa Tavui (5-6). Seattle-born Welliver wins New Zealand title with wide unanimous points verdict over poor Samoan. Former top amateur Pownceby down in fourth but retains WBO Asia Pacific title as Samoan retires at the end of round.

Wangen, Germany: Heavy: Yakup Saglam (23-0) W KO 2 Alex Manea (0-51). Must be one of the worst matches of all time as Turk Saglam makes it 20 by KO/TKO over game, but awful Romanian.

I don't think Casal deserves the "feet of clay" remark the fight he retiered against Quitero he was way to light 131 and should have never fought at that weight.Nick is still a very dangerous puncher and a world class chin, don't give up on the kid yet he's only 23 years old and his weight is 140 no doubt.

Curiosidades & Trivias
