Guerrero in IBF feather title challenge in February 2008, wanted to fight, but
had trouble with the awkward style of former Marine Edwards. Scores 99-91, 98-91
and 97-93 for Litzau. Big result for Holloway as the more experienced Figueroa
had lost to Randall Bailey in IBF title eliminator in
April.
November 5
Cockeysville,
USA: Super
Middle: Pete Manfredo Jr (33-6) W TKO 1 Ron Warrior (29-19-2. Heavy: Lenroy
Thomas (14-1) W PTS 6 Andy Greeley (14-30-2, 2 ND).
Rubbish matches as Manfredo, floors 35-year-old Warrior at the end of the first

DREW 8 Dean White (15-10-2). Former amateur stand-out Kimbrough fails again
as he has to settle for a draw against former victim, 38-year-old trial horse

been matched tough, looked unlucky not to get the
decision.

W PTS 8 Jason Davis (11-5-1). Feather:
Salvador Sanchez (17-3-2) W PTS 6

Judah, out for
exactly one year, has no problem with “opponent standard” Mexican as he floors
him with body shot in first and stops him in second. Casamayor, out since
September 2008, and now 38, looks very rusty as he outboxes novice Davis on
scores of 79-73 on all cards. Sanchez, nephew of the Mexican great, wins wide
decision and continues to be kept away from any real
threats.

(20-1) W TKO 2 Elvecio Sobral (7-3). Parodi retains IBF Youth title but does not
impress despite rocking Colombian twice. Southpaw Mendy too good for Barr.

W PTS 6 Gbenga Oloukun (17-3). Haye wins WBA title on
majority decision as he starts fast, but breaks right hand in second.Valuev
finds his rhythm and comes into the fight in middle stages, but Haye’s speed
gives him the edge. Win cemented by an attack that has Russian giant wobbling in
last round. Scores 116-112 (twice) and 114-114. Ruiz, Haye’s mandatory
challenger, out for almost 15 months, overcomes facial cut in fourth to
force a standing count in seventh which sees Turks corner throw in the towel.

early. Eighth loss in last nine fights for Bates. Frenkel does same to former

Warrior”. Dawson, who relinquished IBF title, wins WBC interim title and retains
IBO title. Angulo floors Yorgey in second and twice in third for kayo to win WBC
interim title. Abysmal refereeing as Yorgey allowed to take too much punishment
and Yorgey’s people complain of punches landed whilst Yorgey was down and also
hits behind head doing the damage. Lara stages late rally to win close but
unpopular verdict over Nicaraguan. Set up for Brunson as Puerto Rica has now
lost eight of last nine.

Romanian.
