Unbeaten heavyweight contender and IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (18-0, 13 KOs) will take on Javier Mora in Berlin on March 13. The 2004 Olympic gold medal winner will make his second fight under the guidance of star coach Teddy Atlas. In December, the 30-year-old Russian became the first man to knock out Leo Nolan, clinching a third-round KO victory in Ludwigsburg.

To warm up for the hotly-anticipated showdown against Wladimir Klitschko, Povetkin needs to take care of business against Mora (22-3, 18 KOs) on the Huck-Richards card. “Everything can happen in heavyweight boxing, so I really need to be on alert,” Povetkin said. “I will of course be entering the fight as the favourite since I had a very good amateur career and I am currently the IBF´s number one. I will win this fight and show everybody that I am ready for Klitschko”.

Povetkin and Atlas have been training in New Jersey. “The training was very hard and very good,” Povetkin said. “I have learned a lot of things. Of course it will take a while ..........

DEVON ALEXANDER ESCAPED STREETS OF ST. LOUIS TO BECOME A CHAMPION
Author: DON KING
By PETER OWEN NELSON, SPECIAL TO SI.COM
Date: 3/4/2010

Behind a metal detector at the entrance to the Marquette Recreation Center, a middle-aged secretary sits at the front desk, crying. A boy she knew, a 19-year-old amateur boxer named Darnell Mason, had been standing in the wrong place at the wrong time and was killed in a drive-by. Three other people were shot: one in the arm, one in the leg and one in the face. The bullet that killed Mason went through his left eye. In north St. Louis, this is nothing unusual. "Forget that other London rival, Derek Chisora, he's just been keeping my seat warm. While he's been snogging men, I’ve been sparring them. Once I'm done with Blasko on Friday night, I'll maybe have another fight before resolving the McDermott situation once and for all”.

The rematch with McDermott is set to take place on May 22nd in Manchester, affording Fury..........

Todos perdieron sus primeras peleas como profesional. De hecho Miguel Cantos y los campeones pesos completos Bonescrusher Smith y Mike Weaver perdieron en su debut también.
