San Antonio, TX -In front of a packed crowd in the Alamodome, Nonito Donaire makes good on his word and defeats Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. via split decision.

With the entire crowd behind him, Vazquez Jr. was not able to capitalize. Donaire seemed the physically stronger fighter landing the harder shots. Donaire scored the only knock down of the fight when he landed a crisp two punch combination that sent Vazquez to the canvas. Vazquez showed heart and resiliency as he shook it off and fought through the championship rounds.

After the final decision was announced, the crowd was in shock as Donaire showed his left hand which was red with blood. He would explain to Larry Merchant in his post fight interview that he fought almost the entire fight with his hand hurt. "I think it was in the second or third that I hurt my hand. But I fought through. I am a warrior" said Donaire.

115-112 for Vasquez, 117 -110 for Donaire twice.

La paz y tranquilidad con la que venían desarrollándose las relaciones para la pelea Nonito-Vázquez Jr, se vio hoy alterada vía Twitter. Según parece, en este lío se inmiscuyeron las esposas de ambos peleadores y se desató una guerra en el site antes mencionado. Aun no tenemos claro el origen de la discordia, pero según hemos visto.
